Carvey is provided by Schehr Law PLLC (“Schehr Law,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information Carvey collects, what stays on your device, what we receive on our servers, and how you can control it.

Carvey is currently available on iOS as part of a limited pilot program.

Carvey is not an emergency service. If you are in danger or need immediate help, call 911.

Information Stored Only on Your Device

The following information is stored locally in Carvey’s database on your phone and is not uploaded to our servers as part of normal use:

  • Your profile, including any vehicle, insurance, and emergency-contact information you choose to save
  • Every Accident File you create, including photos, the accident narrative, witness information, police and report information, injury information, and any voice recordings or transcripts made within the app
  • Crash-detection sensor events and any location saved in connection with them

Because this information is stored on your device, it can be permanently lost if you delete Carvey, lose your phone, or your device is damaged or reset. Carvey does not back this information up to our servers on your behalf.

You control this information directly:

  • Clear My Profile, available in Settings, permanently removes your saved profile, vehicle, insurance, and emergency-contact information from your device. It does not delete Accident Files you have already created. Carvey has no user accounts, so this action does not contact our servers or delete anything server-side.
  • You may delete any individual Accident File at any time from your Accident Files list, which removes that accident’s photos, narrative, and related records from your device.

Information Sent to Carvey Cloud

Carvey sends a limited set of information to our backend systems (“Carvey Cloud”) to operate the app and, when you choose to use it, to deliver a callback request to Schehr Law.

Analytics. Carvey records app-usage events, such as when an accident session is started, a photo is added, or a callback request is submitted. These events are limited to categories, counts, and simple status flags. They do not include your name, phone number, photos, accident narrative, injury information, or witness or police information.

Installation identifier. When you install Carvey, the app generates a random identifier that is not derived from your name, your Apple ID, or your device’s hardware. This identifier is used to authenticate the app with our servers and to associate your analytics events with a single installation. It is not an advertising identifier and is not used for advertising purposes.

Callback request information. If you complete and submit a request for a callback from Schehr Law, we receive the name, phone number, and any message you provide, along with the date and time of your request and the version of the consent you agreed to. Your installation identifier is included with the request, which means that, from the point of submission, it becomes associated with the contact information you provided.

Accident Report sharing. When submitting a callback request, you may separately choose whether to include your Accident Report, a PDF summary of that accident, with your request. If you do not enable this option, no report content is sent—only the contact information and consent record described above. If you enable it, the PDF is transmitted to us so Schehr Law can review it, and it is not retained on our servers after the associated email has been sent.

Location naming. When Carvey displays a readable place name for an accident location, it uses your device’s own operating system location services to convert coordinates into a place name. This occurs on your device and does not involve sending accident coordinates to Carvey Cloud for this purpose.

What Carvey Does Not Do

  • Carvey does not display advertising and does not participate in any advertising network.
  • Carvey does not sell your personal information.
  • Carvey does not use third-party advertising trackers.
  • Carvey does not use Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA) or any comparable identifier for advertising or tracking purposes.
  • Carvey does not automatically contact Schehr Law, an attorney, or any third party. A callback request is transmitted only when you affirmatively submit one.
  • Carvey does not automatically contact 911 or any other emergency service. Carvey may help you initiate a call, but you must choose to place it.
  • Using Carvey, including submitting a callback request, does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship with Schehr Law. A representation relationship is formed only if Schehr Law affirmatively agrees to represent you.

Crash Detection

On iOS, Carvey’s crash-detection feature functions only while the app is open and in the foreground. It cannot detect a crash while the app is closed or running in the background, and any location saved in connection with a detected event is likewise only captured while the app is open. Crash detection is a convenience feature and is not guaranteed to detect any particular crash or to avoid false detections.

Retention

Information stored only on your device remains there until you remove it, whether by using Clear My Profile, deleting an Accident File, or deleting the app.

For information transmitted to Carvey Cloud—analytics events and callback request records—we do not currently operate an automated process that deletes this information after a fixed period. Retention of this information is managed on an administrative basis.

Age Requirement

Carvey is intended for use by individuals age 18 and older. Carvey is not directed to, and should not be used by, anyone under 18.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as Carvey’s features and data practices evolve. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
